What is Chick-fil-A Sauce?
Chick-fil-A sauce is, quite honestly, the main reason most people go to Chick-fil-A. It’s their signature sauce that’s a bit of a cross between a smoky barbecue sauce and honey-mustard, with a light citrus undertone. It’s perfect for dipping chicken fingers, fries, and more.
What does Chick-fil-A sauce taste like? Chick-fil-a-sauce is a little bit sweet, a little zingy, and a little citrusy. Basically it’s everything you could want in a dipping sauce.
Chick-fil-A Sauce Ingredients
There are just 5 ingredients – and you likely have them all in your cupboard.
(Scroll to the bottom for our easy printable recipe with the complete directions.)
- Mayonnaise – Makes the sauce rich and creamy.
- Barbecue sauce – see below for suggestions.
- Honey – This adds a hint of sweetness.
- Mustard – Both dijon and yellow mustard are used in this recipe.
- Lemon juice – This can be substituted with apple cider vinegar, if that’s what you have on hand.
What BBQ Sauce Should I Use?
You can use whatever barbecue sauce is your favorite. Sweet Baby Ray’s is a great option. Note that this dipping sauce does typically have a bit of a smoky flavor so I don’t recommend grabbing any honey or sweet barbecue sauce. If your sauce doesn’t have that hint of smoke (in case your bbq sauce is sweeter rather than smoky) include a splash of liquid smoke.
