Easy Fire Crackers Recipe
We love a crunchy snack and also food that has some heat, so I couldn’t resist taking my ranch oyster crackers and switching the seasonings up a bit to make them spicy!
Instead of dill weed and dill pickle juice, these fire crackers are made with ranch seasoning and crushed red pepper flakes.
The end result is tangy, savory, and spicy crackers that make your lips tingle, perfect for enjoying by the handful or with a bowl of soup.
Ingredients Needed
These fire crackers are made with just a handful of ingredients.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Ranch seasoning – You can use our homemade Ranch seasoning or 1/2 a packet of Hidden Valley.
- Crushed red pepper flakes – This is what gives the crackers their heat and makes them “fire” crackers.
- Seasonings – Other seasonings in this recipe include garlic powder and onion powder.
- Butter – Since we’re adding other seasonings, I use unsalted butter for these.
- Oyster crackers – Be sure to grab plain, not seasoned, oyster crackers.

Serving Suggestions
These spicy oyster crackers are a great snack. We tend to just enjoy them by the handful whenever they’re in the house or taking road trips. Fire crackers are also a great topping for soup like beer cheese soup or a cup of chili.
Proper Storage
These seasoned oyster crackers are best eaten within a couple days, but they can be stored on the countertop in an airtight container for up to a week. Just be sure they’ve cooled completely first, to avoid trapping moisture in the container which will cause them to soften up.
