What Is Infinity Sauce?
Infinity sauce is a savory sauce made with brown butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic. The combination of flavors is absolutely incredible – savory, earthy, and umami. (Note that there is a company called Infinity Sauce and while I’m sure they’re great, this recipe is not related – this soy butter sauce is its own thing!)
Ingredients Needed
This brown butter soy sauce recipe is made with just 5 main ingredients.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Butter – I recommend unsalted butter because the soy sauce has quite a bit of saltiness to it.
- Soy sauce – I like to use low-sodium soy sauce but use whatever one you prefer.
- Brown sugar – Sweetens the sauce with notes of molasses.
- Lemon juice – Just a small amount to add some acidity to the sauce.
- Garlic – Grated garlic adds aromatics and an earthiness to the dressing.
- Red pepper flakes – For a bit of heat.
How To Make Infinity Sauce
Here’s an overview of how to make this soy butter sauce recipe.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Brown the butter. Melt the butter over medium-high. Reduce to low and continue to cook, swirling the skillet constantly, for 6-8 minutes. The butter should be dark golden brown with a nutty aroma.
- Add the other ingredients. Remove the butter from heat and stir in the remaining ingredients.
- Strain. Strain the sauce through a sieve into a bowl.
- Enjoy. Serve as desired and enjoy!
Tips for Success
- Swirl the skillet. When browning the butter, swirling the skillet is the best way to keep the butter moving and to prevent it from burning.
- Discard burnt butter. Brown butter should be golden brown with a nutty aroma – NOT a burnt one. If you cook it too long and it burns, toss it out and start over.
- Use a spatula when straining. I like to scrape out the butter solids with a rubber spatula to ensure as much butter as possible makes it into the sauce.
Ways To Use It
You’re going to want to put this brown butter soy sauce on everything! Here are a few ideas:
- Drizzled over sliced pork loin or pork tenderloin
- On baked chicken breast
- Over vegetables like roasted carrots or roasted asparagus
- On steak and potatoes
- Mixed into cooked rice
Proper Storage
- Fridge. Infinity sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Freezer. Freeze in an airtight freezer-safe container or freeze in ice cube trays until solid then transfer to an airtight freezer-safe container and just thaw what you need. Freeze for up to 2 months.
