Total Time: 15 minutesmins
Servings: 4people (makes 1/2 cup)
Ingredients
8tablespoonsunsalted butter
1tablespoonsoy sauce
2teaspoonsbrown sugar
1teaspoonlemon juice
1small garlic clove, grated
pinchof red pepper flakes
Instructions
Melt butter in small stainless-steal skillet over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook, swirling skillet constantly, until butter is dark golden brown and has nutty aroma, 6 to 8 minutes longer.
Remove from the heat and stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, grated garlic, and red pepper flakes.
Strain sauce over a sieve into a heatproof bowl, making sure to scrape out butter solids with a rubber spatula.
Drizzle over cooked sliced pork loin, baked chicken, roasted vegetables like carrots or asparagus, etc.
Notes
Prevent the butter from burning. As you're browning the butter, gently swirling the skillet is the best way to keep the butter moving and to prevent it from burning. It should be golden brown with a nutty aroma. If you cook it too long and it burns, toss it out and start over.
