Christmas Tree Lights, Snowman, Santa Belt, and Hanukkah themed no bake chocolate bark for the holidays! Cute, fun, easy, and no oven required!
One of my friends posted on Facebook last week that she’s finished with all her holiday shopping! I was like “whaaaa?…Wanna do mine?” HA. I consider myself a pretty organized person (although much more so before my kids were born), but I haven’t even thought about Christmas and Hanukkah presents yet. It’s sort of crazy that we’re only six weeks away, though.
On my wish list is a double oven. I know I’ll never get it, but I can dream! Honestly, it’s probably one of those appliances that would only come in handy a few times a year. But damn, those few times would be NICE.
For those of you who struggle with oven capacity, skip the cake and make this no-bake chocolate bark. Aren’t they all so cute??? Be a fun little project to keep the kids occupied, too!
How To Make Christmas Lights Bark
Christmas Lights Chocolate Bark
Ingredients
- Mike and Ike’s Sour Apple or Green Fruit flavor
- almond M&Ms
- vanilla candy melts
- green food gel
Instructions
- Slice off the top portion of the Mike and Ike’s candy; adhere the sticky part to the wider top part of an M&M, forming the lights. Set aside.
- In a medium microwave safe bowl, melt the candy melts according to package directions until smooth. Spoon a few small scoops into a small bowl; mix in the green food gel. Transfer the green colored chocolate to a small Ziploc bag; snip off a small corner.
- Spread the remaining melted white chocolate onto a baking sheet in a rectangular shape. Place the M&M lights on the melted chocolate; pipe the green chocolate in a line, connecting the lights.
- Place in the refrigerator for 20 or so minutes to set. Break into pieces and enjoy!
- Let set completely (about 12 hours), break into pieces and enjoy!
Notes
- Resist the urge to handle the bark or break it into pieces until it’s fully hardened (about 12 hours.)
- Once the chocolate is set completely and broke into pieces, store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, ideally less than 65ºF.
- Properly tempered chocolate will keep for several weeks and doesn't need to be refrigerated, or refrigerate for longer.

Tips for Making Chocolate Bark
- I prefer Wilton Candy Melts or Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers for making this chocolate bark. (<< Those are affiliate links.) I love regular white chocolate chips, but they are manufactured with additives to hold their shape, so they don’t melt as easily and also once hardened, the bark tends to soften up at room temperature.
- Make sure your bowl and mixing tools are absolutely dry and free from any residue, otherwise your chocolate will seize and be grainy.
- Spread the chocolate mixture pretty thin, about 1/4-inch thick, using an offset spatula so it’s even.
- Have the candy pieces ready, so you can add them to the melted chocolate right away before it starts to harden.
- Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes right after spreading your mixture on the baking sheet to set the chocolate.
- Resist the urge to handle the bark or break it into pieces until it’s fully hardened (about 12 hours.) If you fiddle with it too soon, you may leave fingerprints or scratches on the chocolate.
How To Store Chocolate Bark
Once the chocolate is set completely and broke into pieces, store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, ideally less than 65ºF. Properly tempered chocolate will keep for several weeks and doesn’t need to be refrigerated, or refrigerate for longer.

Love these, Amy!
