(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Cooked seasoned chicken breast – I just love the flavors that grilled chicken lends to this salad, but you can definitely use rotisserie chicken or some leftover baked chicken breast.
- Apple – My favorite apple for this salad is Honeycrisp or Pink Lady, but just use your favorite.
- Peach – Look for a peach that’s ripe, but not too soft and without any bruising. Or you can swap out the peaches for pineapple.
- Blackberries – Fresh blackberries or you can use fresh strawberries.
- Pecans – Roasted chopped pecans give the salad a nice nutty flavor and textural crunch.
- Dressing – Honey, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, rice vinegar, and sesame oil make up the fantastic dressing.
How to Make Honey-Sesame Chicken Salad
This salad is so simple to make in just a few steps.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Make the dressing. In a small bowl, whisk all the dressing ingredients together until combined and smooth.
- Prep the chicken. After your chicken is grilled (or baked), chop it up into bite sized pieces.
- Slice the fruit. Wash and dry all the fruit, then thinly slice the apple and peach.
- Combine the chicken and fruit. In a large bowl, gently combine chicken and fruit.
- Plate and enjoy. Evenly distribute onto plates and drizzle with dressing. Serve and enjoy!
Proper Storage
Once assembled, this grilled chicken salad should be served immediately. However, individual elements can be refrigerated:
- Dressing. This honey sesame dressing keeps well in a tightly fitted lid in the refrigerator for up to a week. Just give it a good stir before serving.
- Chicken. Keep the cooked chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. I actually prefer preparing the chicken in advance since I like it cold on the salad.
