Easy Barbecue Chicken Wrap Recipe

You know how a lot of kids will eat anything with Ranch dressing on it? My kids are like that with barbecue sauce. So I’m always incorporating it into meals (I’m lookin’ at you Crockpot BBQ Chicken, Barbecue Burger, and BBQ Chicken Pizza.) I even developed a homemade bbq sauce.

Whenever I grill chicken breasts or make baked chicken breast, I usually make sure to cook up extra so I can use it in these easy barbecue chicken wraps. Made with bbq sauce, mayo, broccoli slaw, and almonds, wrapped up in a spinach-flavored tortilla, they come together in only 10 minutes if you’ve got leftover (or rotisserie) chicken. They’re so incredibly simple and yet so tasty, filled with a combination of great textures and flavors. They make a great lunch or light dinner.

Ingredients Needed

Hereโ€™s what youโ€™ll need to make this easy chicken wrap recipe:
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)

  • Flour tortillas – You’ll need the large burrito size flour tortillas. I like to use the spinach for extra flavor and great color!
  • Cooked chicken – Thinly sliced baked or grilled chicken breast, or use rotisserie chicken.
  • Broccoli slaw mix – Instead of common lettuce, I love broccoli slaw in this wrap for added flavor and colors. It’s typically a combination of julienned broccoli stems, carrots, and red cabbage and usually available already bagged in the produce section of most grocery stores.
  • Sliced almonds – Provides a nice nutty flavor and textural crunch to the wrap.
  • Barbecue sauce – Spread on the tortilla. Use our homemade BBQ sauce or your favorite store-bought.
  • Mayonnaise – This is also spread on the tortilla. BBQ sauce and mayo together are delish!

How to Make Chicken Wraps

Hereโ€™s how to make this easy chicken wrap in 3 easy steps:
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)

  1. Spread sauces over the tortillas. Spread the bbq sauce and mayo evenly over the tortilla, leaving a 1/4-inch border around the perimeter.
  2. Arrange ingredients over the sauces. Place cooked chicken slices on top of the bbq sauce and mayo, followed by the broccoli slaw and almonds.
  3. Fold up the wrap. Fold up the wrap like you would a burrito.

How to Fold A Chicken Wrap

Fold the tortilla flap nearest you over the filling, then fold in the sides. Roll away from you, keeping it tight to form the wrap (like you would a burrito.) Rest, seam side down. Repeat the process with the other wrap.

Make Ahead and Storing Leftovers

If you won’t be enjoying these right away, wrap them snugly in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator. They are best eaten within 24 hours, otherwise the tortilla starts to get gummy from the sauces.

Just delicious. Simple and delicious. The broccoli slaw is genius – so much more flavor than boring lettuce. Will definitely make these again.

These remind me of those wraps at Ikea. I LIVED for them, looked forward to them every trip. And then they got rid of them. *sad face* So I was thrilled to find this recipe. So good!
