A chocolate themed Christmas Charcuterie Board is so easy to put together, fun to eat, and a great way to entertain friends and family for the holidays!
Another Thanksgiving is in the books and now we’re less than a month away from Christmas! Wasn’t it just summer??
Whether you’re hosting Christmas dinner or a guest at someone else’s house, putting together a chocolate themed charcuterie board is a sure winner!
What Is Included on This Christmas Chocolate Charcuterie Board
When creating a Charcuterie Board, you can go sweet, salty, or a mix of both. There are the traditional boards made up of meat and cheese, or they can be dessert centric. I went 99% chocolate and threw in some pistachios for good measure. HA.
- Truffles – A delicate chocolate shell surrounds an irresistibly smooth chocolate center. Irresistible! Include a variety – some dark chocolate, some white, some caramel, and some sea salt.
- Peppermint Chocolate Bark Squares – couldn’t exclude these from a Christmas dessert tray. Take advantage of them only being available once a year!
- Cookies! I made my Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies and White Chocolate Butterscotch Pretzel Cookies – bake up a couple of your favorites, or store bought is fine, too!
- Pirouline and Pretzels – Piroulines are creme filled wafers, which come in many different flavors. The chocolate covered pretzel rods are super easy to make or you can buy them.
- Kisses and M&Ms – These are just classic winners, all dressed up in red and green for Christmas.
Even with a dessert board, there should be balance; balance of flavors, textures, color, shapes, and arrangement.

How to Build This Chocolate Charcuterie Board
There are no rules to building your board, but there is a slight process to make it easy.
- Put all your little pieces (like M&Ms and nuts) into small Ramekins or shallow dishes, and place those on the board first.
- Then add the cookies – these serve sort of like a wall to help everything else stay in place.
- Next are the truffles and chocolate squares.
- Fill in pockets with round truffles and kisses.
When you’re organizing your board, think about placing light colored items next to darker colored ones, softer foods next to crunchier ones, and try to keep the foods somewhat on the same level, so one food doesn’t tower over another. But mostly, have fun with it!
Bonus, this can be made in advance, and depending on what’s on your tray, it probably doesn’t even need to be refrigerated.
A Chocolate Charcuterie Board is such a fun way to serve your guests something sweet, offering them variety and a small bite. There’s something for everyone and guaranteed to please!
