Easy Salsa Ranch Dressing Recipe

As much as we love my classic homemade ranch dressing, this salsa ranch dressing is giving it a run for its money. It’s essentially ranch dressing with salsa blended into it and you may have also seen it called Santa Fe dressing.

Salsa plus Ranch is the combination you didn’t know you needed, but trust me – you do. They work so well together! This is a great addition to salads, especially ones with Tex-Mex flavor, and makes an excellent dip for veggies too.

Why You’ll Love This Salsa Ranch Salad Dressing Recipe

  • Easy to make. Salsa ranch dressing comes together in just a few minutes. I do recommend chilling for at least 15 minutes before serving, just to give the flavors time to meld.
  • Incredible flavor. Made with buttermilk, ranch seasoning, and salsa, this Santa Fe dressing is creamy and tangy with a bit of heat, depending on the type of salsa used.
  • Many ways to use it. Drizzle this dressing over your favorite salads, add it to a burrito bowl, or use it as a dip.

  • Salsa – Your favorite store bought salsa or you can use homemade salsa too. Spicier salsa will result in a spicier dressing of course.
  • Buttermilk – The base of the dressing, adding a tangy undertone.
  • Mayonnaise – Adds a creaminess to the dressing.
  • Ranch seasoning – My homemade ranch seasoning is perfect for this or a store bought packet is perfectly fine, too.
  • Lime juice – Helps cut through the creaminess and brightens the flavor.
  • Water – Thins the dressing just a bit.
  • Sugar – Just a little helps to balance the acidity and other flavors.
  • Spices – Chili powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper season the dressing.

Serving Suggestions

There are so many ways to enjoy Santa Fe dressing. It’s wonderful over salads, like my classic side salad, cobb salad, or Southwest chicken salad. I also love to drizzle it over my burrito bowls.

Another option is to use it as a veggie tray drip! For parties, I love to make a tray and offer this salsa ranch dressing, classic homemade ranch dressing, and blue cheese dressing as dipping options.

Proper Storage

Salsa ranch salad dressing should be stored in the refrigerator in a sealed glass jar. It will keep up to a week.
