Why You’ll Love These Ritz Skor Bars

Here are a few reasons why these toffee bars are a favorite dessert.

  • Sweet and salty. Thanks to the Ritz crackers, toffee, and chocolate, these bars are the perfect balance of sweet and salty.
  • Only 4 ingredients. Hands-down the best part of this recipe is that you need just 4 ingredients – Ritz crackers, toffee bits, condensed milk, and chocolate chips.
  • Short hands-on time. These chocolate toffee bars require only 10 minutes of prep and 15 minutes in the oven, then they chill.

  • Ritz crackers – The salty crunchy base of these easy toffee bars.
  • Toffee bits – I like to use Heath or Skor brand – hence these being called Skor Ritz bars.
  • Sweetened condensed milk – Adds the sweet, smooth, and creamy texture to the toffee.
  • Chocolate chips – The final layer of these chocolate toffee bars.

How to Make Ritz Cracker Toffee Bars

Here’s how to make these Ritz Skor bars in just a few quick steps.
(Scroll to the bottom for our easy printable recipe with the complete directions, and don’t miss the video below.)

  1. Combine the ingredients. Crush the Ritz crackers into very small bits. Mix with a cup of the toffee bits and the sweetened condensed milk.
  2. Bake. Press the mixture into the bottom of an 8×8 pan lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes, until just slightly browned around the edges.
  3. Add the chocolate chips. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the hot toffee bars. Allow them to melt for a few minutes then spread evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle the remaining toffee bits on top.
  4. Chill. Refrigerate the pan for 30 to 60 minutes then cut the bars and enjoy!

Tips for Success

Here are a few tips for making Skor Ritz bars.

  • Don’t crush the Ritz TOO much. You want the Ritz crackers crushed into small bits but not into very fine crumbs, as that will remove the texture from the dish.
  • Make sure to grease the pan. Toffee is sticky so I definitely recommend using both parchment paper and non-stick cooking spray to easily remove the toffee bars from the pan.
  • Pop the pan back in the oven if needed. The heat from the toffee bars should be enough to melt the chocolate but if needed, you can pop the pan back into the warm oven for a minute.

Serving Suggestions

These Ritz chocolate toffee bars are best enjoyed at room temperature, so once they chill and you slice them into bars, it’s a good idea to let them sit on the counter a bit before enjoying.

Proper Storage

  • Counter. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. Just be sure to keep them out of direct sunlight or heat as the chocolate can melt.
  • Fridge. To extend the shelf life by a few days, you can store them in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • Freezer. You can also freeze these bars for up to 3 months. Let them thaw fully at room temperature.
