Back To School Lunch Ideas so easy and good, you might want them for yourself!
Omg, you guys. We only have three more weeks of summer break and we go back to school! How is that even possible??? *sobs uncontrollably*
I know some of you cannot wait – keeping kids occupied all the time is exhausting. I HEAR YOU. But…I love summer. And I sort of hate school. (Sssshh.) I just loathe all the homework, massive projects, and of course the morning routine.
And then there’s the lunches.
Haley and Trevor are actually pretty good about eating the same thing over and over, but there’s no question they do get tired of ham sandwiches. Zzzzzz. So, this year I came up with some homemade Lunchables®. I mean, what kid doesn’t like to build stuff? All three of these got the thumbs up!
BUILD YOUR OWN TACO – Tortilla Scoops, black beans, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, and chopped lettuce (if you have an extra compartment in your Bento box, you could include salsa or sour cream.)
BUILD YOUR OWN PIZZA – Ritz crackers, pepperoni, Colby Jack cheese, and black olives. (If you have an extra compartment in your Bento box, you could include some pizza sauce or another favorite topping.)
BUILD YOUR OWN SUSHI ROLL – Seaweed, sweet rice with sesame seeds, imitation crab, sliced carrots, sliced cucumber, and soy sauce. (Maybe this one is a reach for some kids? Mine happen to love sushi, so they’re excited about this one!)
