Easy Cheeseburger Dip Recipe
This cheeseburger dip is made with your favorite cheeseburger ingredients – beef, tomatoes, dill pickles, and even ketchup – and a lot of cheese. The end result is a super cheesy, super easy party dip with a delicious little zing, thanks to the addition of dill pickles. It really tastes exactly like a melted cheeseburger!
After making this a few years ago, I immediately declared it a Super Bowl dip and it’s been a part of game day at my house ever since. But it’s great anytime of year – no special occasion needed. It requires just 20 minutes or so to prepare. If you love cheeseburgers, you’re going to love this dip and so will your friends!

Ingredients Needed
This cheesy burger dip includes many of the ingredients you’d pile on a classic burger.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Ground beef – Opt for lean ground beef for less fat.
- Sweet onion & garlic – Aromatics cooked with the beef for extra flavor.
- Rotel – A can of ROTEL includes tomatoes and green chilies. Use mild, medium, or hot, depending on your preference.
- Dill pickles – Finely chopped to be stirred into the dip plus extras for garnish.
- Cream cheese – This is what makes the dip a creamy, tangy dip!
- Cheese – I used a combination of sharp cheddar and Monterrey Jack. If possible, grate a block of cheese instead of buying it pre-shredded. It melts easier and will taste so much better.
- Ketchup – It’s not a burger without ketchup!
- Worcestershire sauce – Provides the burger flavor that separates ground beef from a big, juicy burger.
- Salt & pepper – Must have seasonings.
Recipe Variations
Make this Super Bowl dip your own with a few easy variations.
- For a less spicy version, you can replace the can of Rotel with a 14.5 ounce can petite diced tomatoes.
- If you want it spicier, you could add a diced jalapeno or two while cooking the beef with the onions.
- Turn it into a bacon cheeseburger dip. Add in a 1/2 pound cooked and crumbled bacon.
- Make it leaner. For a slightly healthier version, replace some or all of the ground beef with ground turkey.
- Add your favorite toppings. If your favorite burger toppings aren’t included above, try adding them as a garnish. Some fried onions are perfect here!
- Use burger seasoning. If you have a favorite seasoning you use when making burgers, feel free to add it to this recipe. You can use it in place of the Worcestershire sauce.

How to Make Cheeseburger Dip
This cheesy cheeseburger dip is super simple to make – just brown the beef and add the remaining ingredients. All in one pan. Here’s a summary:
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Brown the beef. Cook the beef in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until translucent and add the garlic at the end. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the remaining ingredients. Stir in the tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Then add cubed cream cheese. Stir constantly until melted. Reduce the heat and stir in the shredded cheese, until melted.
- Serve. Remove the dip from heat and transfer to another dish if desired. Garnish with chopped pickles and parsley. Enjoy warm.

Can I Make This in the Slow Cooker?
Yes, you can definitely make crockpot cheeseburger dip! Cook the ground beef as directed above, with the onions and garlic. Drain the grease then transfer to your slow cooker. Top with the remaining ingredients and give it a stir. Cook on high for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Turn the slow cooker to the warm setting to keep it nice and melty during the party. Be sure to stir every 15 minutes or so.
Serving Suggestions
If I’m keeping things simple, I serve this cheeseburger dip straight from the skillet. It makes for one less thing to clean and helps keep the dip warmer. Of course, you can transfer it to any other serving bowl as well. I’ll also use a crockpot to keep mine warm if the party will be lasting for several hours.
As far as what to serve with cheeseburger dip, sturdy potato chips are my go-to. They pair perfectly with the flavors, just as chips do with regular burgers, and make great dippers. Just be sure to get kettle cooked or another sturdy variety as thin chips will break.

How to Store & Reheat Leftovers
- How to store leftovers. Any leftover cheesy burger dip will last in the fridge for up to 3 days, in an airtight container.
- Can I freeze this? Yes, cheeseburger dip can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge
- How to reheat leftovers. Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave or in a crockpot, if reheating a large amount.
