  • Cream cheese – Be sure to use brick cream cheese, not the kind in the container. Soften to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Sweetened cocoa powder – For the rich chocolate flavor in the dip.
  • Powdered sugar – Sweetens the brownie dip.
  • Cool Whip – You can also use homemade whipped cream.
  • Milk – Helps thin the mixture just slightly, so it’s easier to dip.
  • Vanilla – For flavor.
  • Mini chocolate chips – For more chocolate flavor.

Variation Ideas

Here are some fun ways to customize your brownie dip.

  • Switch up the mix-ins. Instead of mini chocolate chips, try mini M&Ms, Reese’s pieces, peppermint chips, dark chocolate chips, etc.
  • Add an extract. Feel free to swap the vanilla extract for another flavor. Mint extract would be great for mint chocolate chip brownie dip.
  • Make peanut butter brownie dip. Just swirl in 2 tablespoons of creamy peanut butter.

Tips for Success

Here are a few tips for this easy dessert dip.

  • Use room temperature cream cheese. It will be so much easier to blend and you’ll end up with a smooth, creamy texture vs. a more lumpy one.
  • Use homemade whipped cream instead. You can use an equal amount of homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip, if preferred.
  • Add more milk if necessary. If needed, you can add a splash more of milk to reach your desired consistency.

If you’re serving this at a party, you can put the bowl of dip in the middle of a tray and surround it with a few different dipping options, so there’s something for everyone.

How to Store Leftovers

This is best eaten within 24 hours, but you can store any leftover brownie batter dip in the fridge, covered, for up to 2 days. Note that it will stiffen once chilled, so youโ€™ll want to set it on the counter to soften before digging in again.
