Ingredients Needed
This easy bratwurst recipe requires just a handful of ingredients.

- Bratwurst links – You’ll want uncooked bratwurst links for this air fryer recipe. Cut them into 1 inch chunks.
- Sweet peppers – I used miniature tri-colored sweet peppers for a variety of color and flavor. You can use all one color if preferred and if you can’t find mini sweet peppers, regular ones will work too. You’ll just need to cut them into smaller pieces.
- Olive oil – Helps the seasoning stick.
- Seasonings – Salt, pepper, and dried oregano are all that’s needed for added flavor.
- Dipping sauce – The sauce is made up of dark beer, honey, spicy brown mustard, and a bit of allspice. (You can certainly use a different sauce if preferred, but these ingredients pair so well with the brats and peppers.)

Tips & Variations
Here are a few tips for making this air fryer bratwurst recipe.
- Cook in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook these brat bites and peppers in two batches. You’ll want to make sure there’s a bit of space between pieces so that the air can circulate properly and ensure the brats develop a caramelized exterior.
- How do I know when my air fryer bratwurst bites are done? Bratwurst needs to be cooked to an internal temperature of 165F. The peppers should also be tender.
- Add some onions. If you’d like – especially if serving these as a meal – you can add some onion to the recipe for a twist on the classic bratwurst with peppers and onions.
- Try a different sauce – Honey, mustard, and beer pair so well with brats, but you can use a different sauce if preferred.
How To Serve Brat Bites
If serving these brat bites and peppers as an appetizer, I like to serve them with toothpicks so they’re easy to grab and dip into the mustard sauce.
If you opt to make this air fryer bratwurst recipe the main course, you can just drizzle the mustard sauce over each serving. You can also serve this on a hoagie roll to make it a sandwich too.
Proper Storage
- Fridge. Store leftover bratwurst bites and peppers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Store the mustard glaze in a separate container in the fridge.
- Reheat. Pop them back in the air fryer for a few minutes to reheat or in the microwave. You’ll need to warm the mustard sauce as well and be sure to stir well before serving.
