When trying to decide what to make for dinner, chicken and beef always seem to be front runners, but we love pork chop recipes, too. They don’t get the attention they deserve, probably because more often then not they come out overdone, dry, tough, and flavorless. Not the case with this air fryer breaded pork chops recipe!

The great thing about an air fryer, is that you’re not really frying, but the food comes out all crispy and amazing, as if you were. It’s like an oven on steroids where the food cooks super fast without drying out, and bonus – you can avoid heating up your entire house, which is so nice in the summer months.

Perfectly cooked porks chops that come out moist, with a crispy crust are only minutes away!

Bone-in chops. This same air fryer method can be used with bone-in chops. As long as they are the same thickness, cooking time should stay the same. If not, cook through until an internal temperature reaches at least 145 degrees F.

How Long to Cook Pork Chops in an Air Fryer

Depending on the thickness of your pork chops, if they are bone-in or boneless, and the temperature setting, they can take anywhere from 8-20 minutes to cook in an air fryer. This particular recipe calls for boneless chops that are a 1/2-inch thick, cooked at 400° F for 8 minutes, flipping once.

Serving Suggestions

Breaded pork chops are so versatile and pair well with a ton of different side dishes. A few of our favorites include roasted broccoli, Tennessee onions, a baked potato or mashed potatoes.

Proper Storage

  • Fridge. Any cooked leftover pork chops should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge. They will keep up to 3 days.
  • Freezer. You can freeze air fried pork chops, too. Make sure they are completely cooled. Place in a single layer on a baking sheet and flash freeze for a few hours (this will prevent sticking together), then transfer them to a freezer-safe container or bag and freeze completely. They will keep for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat. To crisp leftovers up again, place them back in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for about 4 minutes.

Hi Amy, I believe the Air Fryer is most healthy but have not invested in one yet.
I want to try this receipe in oven or frying. Do you feel the same would work for frying?
I think I will go over tonight and I’m thinking 400 degrees F. With egg should come out tender.

This recipe is awesome. I used tenderized pork chops, but it would still be great with any pork chop. Smaller chops work best.
