These Pineapple Pupsicles are homemade dog treats your fur baby will love! Easy, healthy, frozen, and refreshing – perfect for summer or any time of year!
And just like that, our sweet Penny is one year old tomorrow.
Yep, she was born on the 4th of July. Originally named Freedom, we changed it to Penny on the way home because of her coloring, and also…”lucky” to have her, of course!
She’s a typical hound living to eat, not eating to live. Sort of like me. HA! No table scraps for this one, though – we need to maintain her 14 pound girlish figure. But a few carrots and green beans have fallen on the floor during dinner prep. Game over.
She also LOVES ice cubes – especially in our blistering Sacramento heat. So I thought it would be fun to play around with different puppy safe popsicles – and these Pineapple Pupsicles were born. Aren’t they cute??
Are these Pineapple Pupsicles safe for dogs?
Yep! They only contain two ingredients – fresh pineapple and Greek yogurt – both safe for dogs.
Small, bite-sized fresh raw pineapple is an excellent snack for dogs, loaded in vitamins and minerals. (AVOID feeding your dog the pineapple’s outer skin or hard inner core – both are choking hazards. Also avoid canned pineapple, which has syrup and added sugars that most dogs’ digestive tract can’t handle.)
Plain yogurt is also a great treat for dogs. Yogurt is high in calcium and loaded with probiotics, which is the good kind of bacteria, aiding in the digestion of food and fighting off infections. (AVOID feeding your dog any yogurt that has artificial sweeteners or added sugar.)
As with any treat, give these to your dog in moderation. It is still a treat after all.

Pineapple Pupsicles
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cubed fresh pineapple
- 2/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
Instructions
- Place pineapple chunks in the bowl of a food processor; pulse several times until completely smooth and no pieces remain.
- Add in the yogurt and pulse several more times until incorporated. (Mixture will be very liquid-y.)
- Transfer to a measuring cup with a spout, for easy pouring.
- Place molds onto a baking sheet (this will help transfer them to the freezer without spilling.) Fill the molds.
- Place in the freezer for about 3 hours or until solid.
Notes
- These are the silicone molds I used and I love them! (These treats are small. If you have large dogs, you might want to use different molds or adjust the serving size.)
- Use fresh raw pineapple. AVOID feeding your dog the pineapple's outer skin or hard inner core - both are choking hazards. Also avoid canned pineapple, which has syrup and added sugars that most dogs’ digestive tract can't handle.
- Only use plain yogurt. AVOID feeding your dog any yogurt that has artificial sweeteners or added sugar.

How long do they last in the freezer
My dog approved. Lol. These were easy and fun to make. I even ate one – because why not??
This is one lucky penny!
