Orange creamsicles are a classic treat I grew up enjoying on hot summer days that I still enjoy today. But instead of trying to chase down that ice cream truck, I make them and keep them stocked in the freezer. I have also used the flavors in this recipe as inspiration for many other desserts, like orange creamsicle scones and creamsicle cookies.

Helpful Tips

  • Popsicle molds. This popsicle recipe was created using a standard bar-shaped mold, each holding about 1/3 cup. If you are using a different mold, you might need to adjust the ingredients.
  • Freeze then add the stick. To ensure that the stick doesn’t just sink to the bottom of the mold, it’s important to let the creamsicles freeze for about an hour first. Just be careful to not let it freeze completely or it will be too solid to add the sticks.
  • Another assembly option. Instead of layers, you can also soften the ice cream, whisk all of the ingredients together, and then pour into the molds. This gives the pop a more uniform look and taste.

These are so good Amy! Nothing quite like a creamsicle to take me back to the long days of my summer childhood! I love that these are made with yogurt! I have been in need of finding some slightly healthier treats to indulge in…instead of just putting a spoon into the ice cream carton! ;)
