These Jam Puff Pastry Rolls look fancy, but are such a fun and simple treat made with just 3 ingredients and so easy to make! I love serving these for breakfast and brunch, but they’re also the perfect bite with some tea or coffee in the afternoon too.

These jam puff pastry rolls are always in my back pocket for a super simple but fabulous treat! With only 3 ingredients, I can whip them up for any occasion and easily double or triple the recipe to make enough for a crowd. They’re sweet but not overly so, and they’re the perfect size. My favorite filling to use is seedless raspberry jam but any jam flavor works, or you can even fill them with chocolate!
Tips & Variations
- Dust the work surface with flour. Puff pastry can be sticky, especially when it’s warm. Dusting the work surface and rolling pin with flour will make it much easier to work with.
- Don’t add too much jam. Spreading too much jam on the puff pastry will just cause it to ooze out the sides, even with the border on the outside. Also, take care not to squeeze too tightly when rolling the puff pastry.
- Try a different filling. For a chocolate twist on these puff pastry rolls, swap the jam for Nutella or similar. I also like to play around with different flavors of jam.

Jam Puff Pastry Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 box (17.3-ounce) puff pastry (2 sheets)
- 1/2 cup seedless preserves (I use raspberry)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- flour , for the work surface & rolling pin
Instructions
- Allow puff pastry to thaw on the counter per package instructions.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
- Lightly dust a clean work surface and rolling pin with flour.
- Unfold one of the puff pastries to make it a square and lay on top of the floured surface.
- Heat the jam up in the microwave for about 10 to 15 seconds just to loosen. With a pastry brush, coat one piece of the pastry with the jam, leaving about a 1/4-inch border bare.
- Unfold the second sheet of puff pastry and place on top of the jam; very gently roll them together with the rolling pin (not too hard or the jam will squish out!)
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut 9 even strips of the dough.
- Pinch the ends of each strip tightly and twist. Then swirl it into a round pastry. Pinch and gently press the end of the roll to seal.
- Transfer to the lined baking sheets, leaving space in between.
- Chill tray for 15 minutes, while you preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Bake for about 18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before dusting with powdered sugar. Enjoy!

Serving Suggestions
These jam puff pastry rolls are best enjoyed slightly warm or at room temperature within a few hours of baking. I like to add the powdered sugar right before serving. They’re a wonderful sweet breakfast treat and I also enjoy serving them for brunch, next to savory dishes like a baked Denver omelet, crepes, or hash brown egg casserole.
Make Ahead & Storage
- Storage. I recommend eating these the day they are prepared, for the best texture and flavor. They can be stored in an airtight container on the counter for 24 hours.
- Make ahead (fridge). If the goal is to get the prep work out of the way, they can be assembled in advance. Prepare as directed then place on a baking sheet, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Bake as directed.
- Make ahead (freezer). To freeze these, follow the directions and stop just before baking. Flash freeze on a baking sheet for 1-2 hours then transfer to a freezer-safe container. Freeze for up to 3 months. Bake from frozen, adding a minute or two to the baking time as needed.
