No-bake treats that don’t need the oven are some of my favorite things to keep in rotation for afternoon snacks and easy weekend sweets. These bites are right up there with my other low-effort chocolate peanut butter desserts, like peanut butter balls and buckeye bars, but with added banana and pretzels in the mix. Once these chocolate banana pretzels have chilled, the chocolate firms up, the banana and peanut butter stay soft and creamy, and the whole thing lands somewhere between a snack and a dessert. They’re so yummy!
Helpful Tips & Variations
- Use a ripe banana. A yellow, ripe banana gives these bites the best flavor and texture. Skip bananas that are overly soft or heavily spotted, since they can get mushy quickly and won’t hold up as well. Save those extra-ripe ones for banana bread.
- Warm the peanut butter. I like using creamy peanut butter to make these bites, but crunchy peanut butter is also great if you want even more texture. Warming it slightly (I use the microwave) loosens it up and makes it easier to drizzle over the banana slices.
- Melt the chocolate gently. Microwave the chocolate chips in 15-second bursts, stirring well after each, until smooth to avoid scorching the chocolate.
- Use a different nut or seed butter. Almond butter works great here, and sunflower seed butter is a good nut-free option.
- Try freezing them! These pretzel chocolate banana bites are so good straight from the freezer and almost taste like little ice cream bites!

How to Make Chocolate Pretzel Banana Bites Step by Step

Gather all of your ingredients.

Add the pretzels: Line a mini muffin tin with 24 mini paper liners and place 1 mini pretzel in the bottom of each liner.

Layer the banana: Top each pretzel with 1 banana slice (about ยผ-inch thick).

Add the peanut butter: Drizzle about a teaspoon of slightly warmed peanut butter over each banana slice. It should be loose enough to spoon easily but still thick and creamy.

Top with chocolate: Drizzle about 1 teaspoon of melted semisweet chocolate over the top of each one, letting it settle over the peanut butter and banana.

Let them chill: Finish each bite with a small pinch of sea salt for a sweet and salty contrast. Refrigerate for about 1 hour, or until the chocolate is fully set and firm to the touch. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Serving Suggestions
Keep these chocolate pretzel banana bites in the fridge for easy snacking, quick desserts, or a fun lunchbox treat! I also think they make a really cute topping or garnish. Try them over no-churn ice cream, or use them to finish off my no-bake peanut butter pie with a little extra crunch.
Storing Leftovers
- Fridge. Store these banana peanut butter pretzel bites in an airtight container in the fridge. How long they last will depend on how ripe your banana was to begin with. I usually get about 2 days before the banana starts turning pretty brown, but it can vary. You can lightly coat the banana slices with lemon juice (before assembling) to help slow browning.
- Freezer. You can also store these in the freezer for about a month. Let thaw a bit before enjoying. Note that thawed bananas can be mushy.
