Perfectly spiced, topped with pecans, and sweetened with honey, this Baked Pears recipe requires just 5 ingredients. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or some whipped cream for a super easy yet impressive fall dessert.
Pears, in my opinion, are a very underrated fruit. They’re often overshadowed by other fall and winter fruits, like apples and oranges, despite the flavor being so perfect for fall. They’re pretty versatile too, whether you use them to make a classic pear crisp, pear salad, or these irresistible baked pears.
These baked pears give classic baked apples a run for their money as one of my favorite easy fall desserts. They’re so simple to make and taste wonderful, gently spiced, topped with nuts, and sweetened with honey. Perfect for a family dessert or casual dinner party.

What Pears Are Best For This Recipe?
While you can use any pears to make this recipe, be sure to choose ones that are ripe but still firm. Pears that are overly ripe will lose their shape when baking. Bosc is probably the best as it’s one of the firmer varieties and maintains its shape well. Anjou and Seckel are other good options, as are Barlett and Asian pears.
Serving Suggestions
I love to serve these baked pears with the remaining honey mixture drizzled over them and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an easy yet impressive dessert that’s not too sweet or decadent. You could also top them with whipped cream or yogurt. If you’re entertaining and looking for drink ideas, they pair well with a cranberry moscow mule and hot buttered rum.
Proper Storage
- Fridge. Baked pears are best enjoyed immediately but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
- Reheat. Gently warm the pears in the microwave until heated through.
