This air fryer egg frittata is one of my favorite go-to quick breakfasts or at-home lunches! It’s light yet hearty, fresh and so delicious, with minimal cleanup. The eggs cook up nice and fluffy, with veggies and melty cheese tucked in every bite. Great for during the week or a fuss-free weekend.

I praise the ease of my sheet pan frittata when I need to feed a crowd, but when I’m flying solo or cooking for two, this air fryer version is great! It’s protein-packed and healthy, yet still feels cozy and satisfying. I love that I can toss in whatever veggies or cheese I have on hand, making it a little different every time. The minimal cleanup, thanks to the air fryer liner, really seals the deal. Love this one for an effortless breakfast or lunch.

Helpful Tips

  • Check your air fryer size. A 5.8-quart basket works great for this recipe. If yours is smaller, you may need to scale back the ingredients or add a couple of extra minutes of cook time so the eggs set properly.
  • Use a liner. Parchment liners keep the eggs from sticking and make cleanup quick. I get mine from Amazon, but I’ve recently seen a lot of grocery stores carry them now.
  • Don’t overcrowd the frittata. Scatter the veggies in an even layer so every forkful has a little bit of everything. And the eggs cook through evenly without soggy spots.
  • Check for doneness. The frittata is ready when it’s puffed, lightly golden on top, and the egg whites are no longer transparent or jiggly. Keep in mind it will firm up a little more as it cools from carryover cooking.

How to Make Air Fryer Egg Frittata Step by Step

Air fryer basket lined with parchment paper being brushed with olive oil.

Prepare the air fryer: Place an air fryer liner in the basket of your air fryer and brush it with 2 tsp olive oil.

Four raw eggs cracked into the air fryer basket on top of the parchment liner, seasoned with salt and pepper.

Add the eggs: Crack 4 large eggs over the liner, then season with 1/8 tsp garlic powder, 1/8 tsp onion powder, and a pinch of coarse salt and pepper to taste.

Eggs in the air fryer basket topped with halved cherry tomatoes, chopped spinach, and shredded mozzarella.

Mix in the add-ins: Sprinkle 8 halved cherry tomatoes, a handful of chopped baby spinach, 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella, and 1 tablespoon Parmesan evenly over the eggs.

Cooked air fryer frittata inside the basket, golden and puffed with melted cheese and vegetables.

Air fry the frittata: Air fry at 350°F for 10 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted.

Finished frittata on parchment paper with toasted bread on the side, ready to slice and serve.

Slice and serve: Slice into quarters and enjoy on their own or served with toasted bread, if desired. Enjoy!

Recipe Variations

One of the best parts about a frittata is how easy it is to customize. You can swap in whatever you have in the fridge or use up extra veggies from the week. A few tasty add-ins include:

  • Diced bell peppers for color and crunch
  • Sliced mushrooms for an earthy flavor
  • Air fryer bacon or sausage crumbles for extra protein
  • Feta or goat cheese in place of mozzarella for a tangy twist
  • Fresh herbs like basil or parsley to brighten it up

Serving Suggestions

I usually slice this frittata into quarters and enjoy it with a piece of buttered toast or a mini bagel straight from the air fryer. If I’m making it for brunch, I’ll pair it with homemade breakfast sausage, a fresh fruit salad, or even a skillet of corned beef hash to round things out. It’s also great tucked between two slices of sandwich bread for a quick egg sandwich, and I love adding a few avocado slices on the side for extra creaminess.

How to Store Leftovers

  • Fridge. This frittata is best enjoyed fresh, leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat. To reheat, pop a slice back in the air fryer at 300°F for 2–3 minutes to bring back the fluffy texture and lightly crisp edges, or microwave for 30–45 seconds if you’re short on time.

I have a question…why not scramble the dry ingredients and eggs together?
