Tips & Variations
Here are a few tips for making this poison apple cocktail, as well as a few variations.
- Use apple juice instead of cider. You can use apple juice instead of apple cider if it’s not in season. It’ll change the flavor of the cocktail but only slightly.
- What if I don’t have the gold luster? If you prefer, omit the edible gold luster for a simpler presentation. This alteration will not affect the taste of the cocktail.
- Make it kid-friendly. You can prepare a non-alcoholic version by replacing the caramel vodka with more apple cider and cranberry juice.
- Stir before serving. Be sure to stir it before serving to achieve the full shimmer effect. You may also want to serve it with little stirring sticks, as the dust will settle to the bottom.
Make It For A Crowd
You can also make this poison apple cocktail for a crowd. Just multiply the ingredients by the number of drinks you want. Then mix the apple cider, cranberry juice, caramel vodka, and grenadine in a large bowl or pitcher without ice. Keep it chilled in the fridge until serving.
To serve, just give it a stir then pour over ice and garnish as desired. Have a little bowl set out filled with the gold luster along with some stir sticks, and let guests add a bit to their own drinks.
