Pineapple Rum Punch Recipe

This pineapple punch, made with Malibu rum and lemon-lime soda, is a sweet and refreshing cocktail to enjoy with your adult friends and family on a hot day. Itโ€™s so easy to make and is perfect for summer gatherings while pineapple is in season.

Malibu is the perfect alcohol for so many summer drinks. It tastes sweet, with notes of fruity rum and a finish of coconut and almond. Delish!

  • Pineapple juice – Buy your favorite brand.
  • Lemon lime soda – Such as 7UP or Sprite.
  • Coconut rum – This type of rum pairs perfectly with pineapple.
  • Fresh pineapple chunks – For garnish.

Recipe Variations

  • Try a different rum. Coconut rum pairs perfectly with pineapple, but any type of rum works in this punch. Try dark or spiced rum instead
  • Swap out the lemon lime soda. You can replace the 7UP with ginger ale or lime seltzer, if preferred.
  • Need it without the alcohol? Make it a mocktail punch, no problem. Just simply omit the rum entirely.

Serving Suggestions and Storage

This pineapple punch recipe makes approximately 7 cups, it’s perfect for a pitcher full of drinks served to a small group. If you’ll be serving a large group, simply double or triple all the ingredients and consider having the mixture in a large punch bowl or 2-gallon drink dispenser. Leave out cups and let guests serve themselves.

Since you’re using a carbonated beverage, I don’t recommend making the punch ahead of time, whoever it is best to chill all the ingredients beforehand and then adding the soda right before serving. Once mixed, enjoy within a couple hours. As time goes on, it will lose its fizz.

If youโ€™ve got leftovers, freeze the punch in an ice cube tray. This way, youโ€™ll have flavored ice cubes for future drinks!
