An Easy Dessert Dip

We absolutely love dessert dips! They’re great when you need something fast, either to satisfy that sweet craving, but don’t feel like baking, or perfect for times when you have unexpected guests or need something quick for a potluck.

This Funfetti Dip is our latest dessert love, and it’s a super fun one! There are sprinkles and animal crackers, which the young crowd loves, and it tastes just like funfetti cake batter. Bonus, you only need a few ingredients, it’s no bake, and it only takes 5 minutes to make, plus chilling. Dessert has never been so easy!

What You’ll Need

Just 6 ingredients are needed to make this quick and easy dessert!

  • Cream cheese – You’ll want to soften the brick of cream cheese to make the dip fluffier and easy to mix.
  • Powdered sugar – Makes the dip sweet and smooth.
  • Whipped topping – We use a tub of thawed Cool Whip. This helps give the dip volume and keep it light. You can also use our homemade whipped cream.
  • Animal crackers – Finely crushed animal crackers give texture to the dip.
  • Mini chocolate chips – Because, honestly, chocolate chips make everything better!
  • Rainbow sprinkles – The fun of “funfetti”! You’ll want additional sprinkles for garnish as well.

How to Make Funfetti Dip

This fun dessert dip with sprinkles is ready in under 5 minutes. Here’s a summary:

  • Combine the ingredients. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping, crushed animal crackers, and mini chocolate chips.
  • Chill. Chill in the fridge for an hour.
  • Serve. Right before serving, fold in the sprinkles. Then garnish with more sprinkles and serve with your choice of dippers.

Tips for Success

There are just a few things to remember when making this sweet dip.

  • Use softened cream cheese. Allow the cream cheese to sit on the counter for a few hours. Softened cream cheese will be much easier to combine with the other ingredients.
  • Add the sprinkles last. To avoid spreading the color to the white dip, wait to mix in the sprinkles just before serving.
  • Serve chilled. Keep your dessert dip in the fridge until it’s time to serve, so the ingredients don’t soften too much.

What to Serve with Funetti Dip

You can serve this cold dessert dip with a variety of dippers. I like to place two or three out with the funfetti dip so that everyone may choose their favorites. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Whole animal crackers
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Pretzels
  • Graham crackers
  • Strawberries

How to Store

You can store any leftover funfetti dip in the fridge for up to 2 days. Note that it will stiffen once chilled, so you’ll want to set it on the counter to soften before digging in again. The colors of the sprinkles will likely also spread throughout the dip but don’t worry – it still tastes amazing!

Ingredients 

  • 8 ounce brick cream cheese, , softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounce tub Cool Whip, , thawed (see note)
  • 1 cup animal crackers, , finely crushed
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespons rainbow sprinkles, , plus more for garnish
  • Dippers: Whole animal crackers, vanilla wafers, and/or pretzels, , for serving

Instructions 

  • In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and combined.
  • Fold in the Cool Whip, animal crackers, and mini chocolate chips.
  • Chill in the fridge for 1 hour, then right before serving fold in the sprinkles.
  • Garnish with more sprinkles and serve with your choice of dippers.

Notes

An equal amount of our homemade whipped cream can be used instead, if preferred.
