Easy Salmon in Air Fryer

If you had asked me a year ago whether I would get an air fryer, I would have laughed. I don’t need another kitchen appliance hogging up countertop space! But you guys, it’s so worth it. I LOVE my air fryer – it cooks food in a way I wouldn’t have dreamed of.

This air fryer salmon recipe is a perfect example, which comes out crisper, juicer, and perfect – the air fryer locks in all the juices for the best tasting salmon. Bonus, it’s so quick and easy with virtually no clean up!

Ingredients Needed

You only need a few items to make this air fryer salmon recipe.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)

  • Salmon fillets – You’ll want fresh salmon fillets, ideally with the skin on. If they’re frozen, make sure to completely thaw them first.
  • Garlic and ginger – These provide great flavor and aromatics.
  • Hoisin sauce – If you’ve never had hoisin sauce, it’s a bit like American-style barbecue sauce, but less sweet, saltier, and richer. It’s quite unique and we love it so much. It pairs perfectly with salmon.
  • Seasonings – Kosher salt and pepper season the fish.
  • Garnish – Top with toasted sesame seeds, chopped scallions or fresh parsley.

  • Purchase fillets that are the same thickness so they cook at the same rate.
  • Remove any pin bones or have your butcher do it for you.

This was delicious! I cooked it for about 15 minutes and broiled it the last couple of minutes. Had some cubed sweet potatoes and fresh broccoli. Just as good as any restaurant. I will definitely be making this again.
