How long to cook salmon in air fryer
Knowing how long to cook salmon in an air fry can be somewhat of a guessing game, since you can’t see it. Much like a traditional oven, really. It will really depend on the size and weight of your fish filets and practice!
This particular air fryer salmon recipe calls for (2) 4-6 ounce fillets that are 3-4 inches across. They are cooked for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F or until an internal temperature reaches at least 145 degrees F, for medium doneness. They can be cooked for 12 minutes if you really want to make sure there is absolutely no pink, but I think 10 minutes is perfect.
What type of air fryer to use
These salmon fillets were made and tested in this Phillips model Air Fryer with a basket and requires preheating. If you own a different model air fryer (such as Ninja, NuWave, Dash, etc.), I would suggest doing a test run with just a single fillet and then adjust the time/temp, if necessary. Air fryers are all similar, but just like ovens, cooking times can vary. My air fryer is also small. If yours is bigger than 3 quart, you can cook more than 2 salmon fillets at a time, as long as they’re not overlapping.
Tips for perfect Air Fryer Salmon
- Purchase fillets that are the same thickness so they cook at the same rate.
- Remove any pin bones or have your butcher do it for you.
- Keep the skin on to ensure the fish doesn’t stick to the air fry basket grates.

This was delicious! I cooked it for about 15 minutes and broiled it the last couple of minutes. Had some cubed sweet potatoes and fresh broccoli. Just as good as any restaurant. I will definitely be making this again.
So simple and came out perfect! Salmon was done beautifully.
This was restaurant quality (or better!)
