Easy Frozen Blue Lagoon Drink Recipe
This frozen Blue Lagoon drink will make you feel like you’re on a tropical vacation – even if you’re simply in your own backyard. Isn’t it pretty?!
It’s a fun twist on a classic Blue Lagoon cocktail, with the lemonade replaced by lemon sorbet to create a frozen treat. I also add some cream of coconut for an extra creamy texture and layer of tropical flavor. Top it off with some whipped cream, a lemon wedge, and a maraschino cherry and this frozen cocktail is the perfect thing to cool you down on a hot summer day.
What Is A Blue Lagoon Drink?
A Blue Lagoon drink is a cocktail made with vodka, blue curacao, and lemonade. Sometimes it’s also made with lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7Up for some fizz.
It’s a popular drink that’s been around since the 1960s when blue curacao first became a thing. (If you’ve never had blue curacao, it’s a Caribbean liqueur with a citrus flavor and bright blue color. Also used in a Blue Hawaiian.)

Cocktail Variations
Here are a few different ways to customize your Blue Lagoon cocktail to your preferences.
- Blue Lagoon margarita. To turn this into a margarita-style drink, swap the vodka for tequila.
- Serve it on the rocks. If you don’t want a frozen cocktail, swap the sorbet for lemonade (and lemon-lime soda if you want some fizz) and serve on the rocks.
- No blue curacao? Blue curacao is a key ingredient in this cocktail but if you don’t have any on hand, you can use triple sec and blue food coloring for a similar taste & appearance.
- Make several cocktails at once. You can easily size up this Blue Lagoon cocktail recipe by simply multiplying the ingredients. You’re really only restricted by the size of your blender.
Serving Suggestions
To turn this into a true dessert cocktail, I like to top my Blue Lagoon cocktail with some homemade whipped cream, a lemon wedge, and a maraschino cherry. Since this frozen cocktail has a texture similar to a milkshake, you’ll want to serve it with a straw. Note that your Blue Lagoon drink should be served immediately, as it will begin to melt.
