Made with buttery-sugared toasted pretzels, crushed pineapple, and a cream cheese base, this Pineapple Pretzel Fluff is sweet, salty, and amazing! With just 10 minutes of prep, it makes the perfect sweet side dish or dessert for family gatherings and potlucks.
Easy Pineapple Pretzel Fluff
It’s near impossible to not love a fluff recipe and this pineapple pretzel version is no different! You can enjoy it as a dessert, side, or dip.
All you need to do is toast pretzels that are coated in melted butter and sugar and then combine with the other ingredients. Cream cheese, powdered sugar, and heavy whipping cream make up the base that’s irresistibly creamy with sweet and tangy undertones. Crushed pineapple adds a tropical twist and the pretzels add some salty crunch.
Why You’ll Love This Pineapple Fluff With Pretzels
- Quick & easy. Like most fluff recipes, this one comes together in just a few basic steps. You can whip it up in hardly any time at all.
- Sweet and salty. The salty pretzels, tart pineapple, and sweet, creamy fluff base offer the perfect combination of flavors.
- Great for potlucks. I love taking this to summer potlucks because it works as both a side dish and a dessert. It’s cool, refreshing, and always a hit!
Ingredients Needed
This easy dessert is made with just a handful of basic ingredients.
(Be sure to scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)
- Pretzels – Coarsely chopped, which you can easily do in a ziploc bag. Do not crush them too much.
- Butter – Melted, to help the sugar stick to the pretzels.
- Sugar – Caramelizes and sweetens the pretzels.
- Cream cheese – Be sure to use brick cream cheese, not the container. Allow it to come to room temperature.
- Heavy whipping cream – Gives the mixture shape.
- Powdered sugar – Adds sweetness and helps add the light fluffiness to the fluff.
- Vanilla – For flavor.
- Crushed pineapple – Pressed and drained.

(Scroll to the bottom for our easy printable recipe with the complete directions and don’t miss the video below.)
- Bake the pretzels. Combine the pretzels, butter, and sugar. Spread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 400F for 5-7 minutes then allow to cool completely.
- Make the fluff. Beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy then add the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Whip until stiff peaks form.
- Add the pineapple and pretzels. Fold in the crushed pineapple and most of the pretzels.
- Serve. Transfer to a bowl and top with the remaining pretzel pieces. Serve and enjoy!
Tips & Variations
Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your pineapple fluff with pretzels.
- Drain the pineapple completely. Be sure to thoroughly drain the pineapple and then press it dry. You want to remove as much moisture as possible, to prevent it from watering down the fluff.
- Add the pretzels just before serving. If you are making this in advance, consider waiting to add the pretzels as they will soften as they sit.
- Use full-fat cream cheese. This will offer the richest flavor and creamiest texture.
- Can I use fresh pineapple? Sure – it will take more effort as you’ll need to dice it very small, but it will work!

Serving Suggestions
I like to serve this pineapple pretzel fluff in a big bowl with the reserved pretzel pieces on top. Or, for individual servings, portion the mixture into dessert cups and top with piped whipped cream, crushed pretzels, and some pineapple pieces.
Proper Storage
Store pineapple fluff with pretzels in the fridge for up to 2 days. Be sure to cover tightly with plastic wrap. Note that after a day or so, the pretzels will soften and the pineapple may release some liquid – but give it a stir and it’ll still taste great! I don’t recommend freezing this.
