With just 4 ingredients, this Frozen Strawberry Margarita is a cocktail that can be whipped up in minutes. The light, fruity flavor and slushy texture are perfect for hot summer days.
Or if you’re not a fan of strawberries, just make our regular frozen margarita.

Easy Strawberry Margarita Recipe
This recipe combines two of my favorite summer drinks – frozen margaritas and strawberry margaritas! A Frozen Strawberry Margarita is so refreshing to sip on a hot summer day. These are perfect for an afternoon relaxing with the ladies but they’re so quick and easy to make that whipping up a big batch for a party is no problem.
I find that even those who aren’t huge margarita fans enjoy a good frozen strawberry margarita. The strawberries lighten the overall taste of the margaritas and the frozen texture makes it a lot like drinking a slushy.

Margarita Ingredients

- Margarita mix – We keep our homemade margarita mix on hand, but you can also grab a bottle at the store (look for one with a short ingredient list!)
- Tequila – Your favorite tequila blanco is perfect.
- Triple sec – If you don’t have triple sec on hand, you can leave it out, but I highly recommend it because it has a great orangey flavor that just gives the margaritas a great punch of flavor.
- Frozen Strawberries – Using frozen strawberries gives the margarita the great frozen slushy texture.
Do I Need to Add Ice?
Since you’re using frozen strawberries, you don’t need to use ice because the frozen strawberries act as your ice cubes. If you want it extra frozen, you can throw a few ice cubes into your blender. I recommend using small ice cubes or smashing them into smaller pieces for a smooth texture.
Can I Use Fresh Strawberries?
If you want to use fresh strawberries, you will need to use about 1 cup of fresh strawberries and 1 & 1/2 cups of ice cubes to create the same texture as a frozen margarita. Otherwise, you’ll end up with just a basic strawberry margarita (which is still delicious!) without the slushy texture.
How to Make a Frozen Strawberry Margarita
Here’s the quick and easy way to make frozen strawberry margaritas:

- Blend the ingredients. Add all of the ingredients to your blender. Pulse until the strawberries are broken into smaller pieces. Blend for 2 to 3 minutes, until the drink is smooth.
- Enjoy. Serve in a glass rimmed with salt.

Serving Suggestions
Margaritas are typically served in glasses rimmed with salt and this frozen strawberry margarita is no exception. However, a fun twist for fruity margaritas like this one is to swap the salt for sugar. It makes it seem a bit more like a special treat, in my opinion.
Whether you’re rimming the glass in sugar or salt, first you’ll want to rub the edge with a lime wedge. Spread the salt or sugar on a small plate. Dip the rim straight up and down into the salt/sugar. No twisting! You can add some extra strawberries or a lime slice for garnish if desired.
Can I Make This in Advance?
When it comes to preparing frozen margaritas in advance, I’ve found that the longest they will last is an hour. You can either keep them in the freezer or in a tumbler in the fridge. After an hour, the texture is just different. If you’re preparing these for a party, I’d recommend doing it right before guests arrive and serving them at the start of the party.
