We all saw this coming, right? Itโ€™s actually quite shocking how long it took me to share an Oreo Milkshake recipe here. But better late than never, and the wait was worth it because itโ€™s as amazing as youโ€™d think.

Ingredients you need for this Oreo Milkshake Recipe

You only need 4 ingredients (including my easy homemade chocolate sauce) and youโ€™re well on your way to bliss! (Scroll to the bottom for the complete recipe and printable.)

  • Whole Milk
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Chocolate Sauce (<< that’s my homemade recipe and it’s awesome!)
  • Oreo Cookies

Recipe Variations

  • Whole milk delivers the creamiest, best consistency and flavor (it is after all, a milkshake!) But if youโ€™re looking to cut back on calories any which way you can, 1% milk can be used. Really, any milk.
  • Get a double dose of Oreos by swapping out the vanilla ice cream for cookies and cream ice cream. YUM!
  • Go extra chocolate-y by replacing the vanilla ice cream with chocolate ice cream.
  • Make a blondie version by replacing the regular Oreos with Golden Oreos, and use caramel sauce instead of chocolate sauce.
  • How about a grasshopper version! Use mint Oreos and a bit of Crรจme de menthe.
  • You can even make this non-dairy and vegan by using creamy vegan ice cream and dairy-free milk. (NOTE: since non-dairy ice creams are usually less thick than traditional ice cream, youโ€™ll probably want to reduce the amount of milk you use. And you can still use my homemade chocolate sauce, which is dairy-free. Yay!)

How To Make this Oreo Milkshake

Place all of your ingredients in a blender (in the order listed). Start out on low speed and increase to high. Blend until you reach the desired consistency.

Simply blend until it just comes together if you like more texture to your milkshake, or blend for several minutes until completely smooth without any chunks.

This Oreo milkshake recipe serves two in large soda fountain glasses (and it takes all my restraint to not drink both servings all by myself!), but you can easily cut all the ingredients in half for just one drink, or double everything for more people. It’s so good!!

And definitely check out this Vanilla Malt Milkshake and my McDonald’s Copycat Shamrock Shake!
