Easy Air Fried Oreos

Aaaah deep fried Oreos at the fair. Oreos in pancake batter, then deep fried to perfection. Yummy! They’re our favorite.

Two problems: the fair only comes around once a year, and I don’t love deep frying food in my house. Air Fryer Oreos are a happy solution! These air fried Oreos aren’t quite the same, of course, but they do have the same texture and flavor as the fair classic but skip the deep frying and swap the messy batter for crescent dough.

While you can make these Air fryer fried Oreos with just 3 ingredients, I like to throw in a little surprise and add a dollop of Nutella, peanut butter, or marshmallow fluff. SO good!

Why You’ll Love These Air Fryer Oreos

You may find yourself making this classic fair food at home on a regular basis, they’re so easy.

  • Only 4 ingredients. All you need is Oreos, crescent dough, and powdered sugar. I also like to add an extra filling, like Nutella or peanut butter, but you don’t have to.
  • Quick and easy. There’s no messy batter to dip these in either. Just wrap each cookie in dough and place it in the air fryer.
  • Healthier than the classic version. Fried Oreos are never going to be healthy but this version is definitely healthier than the classic version, as there’s no big vat of oil to dunk them in.

Ingredients Needed

You’ll need just 3 ingredients, plus fillings and optional egg wash to make these air fryer Oreos.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)

  • Pillsbury crescent rolls – Provide the flaky outside to the air fried Oreos.
  • Oreos – I used Double Stuffed because why not? But you can use any type of Oreo here.
  • Fillings – I like to add some creamy peanut butter, Biscoff, Nutella, or marshmallow fluff when making these. Pick one or try a few!
  • Powdered sugar – For dusting the top when they come out of the air fryer.
  • Egg wash (optional) – Not required, but it does give the air fried Oreos a golden color.

How to Make Air Fryer Oreos

Here’s how to make these air fryer fried Oreos in just a few minutes.
(Scroll below to the printable recipe card for details and measurements.)

  1. Prepare the crescent dough. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  2. Add the fillings. Add a teaspoon of peanut butter (or another filling) on the widest part of each crescent roll triangle. Top with an Oreo cookie.
  3. Fold the crescent dough. Fold the bottom edges of the dough over the cookie and roll towards the tip of the dough. Press to seal any loose dough, making sure the cookie is fully enclosed. Repeat with remaining cookies.
  4. Preheat the air fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 350F for 3 minutes. Spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  5. Air fry. Air fry the Oreos for 4 to 5 minutes, until golden brown. Be sure to leave space between each cookie, as the crescent dough will expand.
  6. Enjoy. Transfer to a serving plate, top with powdered sugar, and enjoy warm.

Tips for Success

Here are a few tips for making these easy air fryer fried Oreos.

  • Use your favorite type of Oreo. You can use any Oreos that you like, regular, stuffed, mega stuffed, double stuffed or even the specialty flavored Oreos for this recipe.
  • Air fry in batches if necessary. Depending on the size of your air fryer and how many fried Oreos you’re making, you may need to cook these in batches. It’s important to leave space between them, so the air circulates properly to cook them evenly. They’ll also puff up in the air fryer.
  • Add whatever filling you’d like. Just a little bit of peanut butter, Biscoff cookie butter, Nutella, or Marshmallow fluff takes these up a level. Try one or all!
  • Make a double batch. These are pretty addicting and one is never enough, so you can easily double this recipe to make more.

Serving Suggestions

Air fryer fried Oreos should be served warm, right after cooking. They’re most commonly topped with just a generous sprinkle of powdered sugar but you could make a powdered sugar glaze as well.

Feeling super decadent? You can also serve these with some chocolate sauce or caramel sauce for dipping or drizzled over the top.

Storing Leftovers

Can You Store Fried Oreos? You should eat your air fried Oreos while they’re warm and soft from the air fryer, they’re not an ideal dessert to store. However, if you do end up making more than you can eat, you can place them in an airtight container in the fridge for a day or two. Reheat in a preheated air fryer for 1-2 minutes. They won’t be the same but they’ll still be good.

  • 1 can refrigerated Pillsbury crescent rolls, (8 ounces)
  • 8 Double Stuffed Oreos

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • egg wash, (egg mixed with a bit of water), optional

Instructions

  • Unroll the tube of crescent roll dough and carefully separate the triangles.
  • Dollop a teaspoon of peanut butter onto the bottom, wider part of each crescent roll, then place an Oreo cookie on top.
  • Fold the bottom edges of the dough over the cookie and roll towards the tip of the dough, pressing to seal any loose dough so that the cookie is fully enclosed. Repeat with all the remaining cookies.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes, then spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Place as many of the dough wrapped Oreos in the basket that will fit in a single layer with plenty of space in-between for proper air flow and room for them to expand – air fry in batches if necessary.

  • Remove the cookies from the basket and transfer to a serving plate.
  • Let cool slightly then liberally dust the fried Oreos with powdered sugar. Enjoy while still warm.

Notes

Use your favorite type of Oreo. You can use any Oreos that you like, regular, stuffed, mega stuffed, double stuffed or even the specialty flavored Oreos for this recipe.
Omit the filling, if preferred. Just a little bit of peanut butter, Biscoff cookie butter, Nutella, or Marshmallow fluff takes these up a level. But you can leave it out, if preferred. They’re still good without it.
