Easy Ritz Cracker Chicken Recipe

This Ritz cracker chicken casserole may be simple but it’s so good. Mayo and sour cream add a creamy texture and help keep the chicken super moist when baking, while parmesan and Ritz crackers add salty flavor and some crunch.

It’s the perfect dish to prepare when you don’t feel like cooking, as the hands-on time is just a few minutes and you probably have everything you need in the cupboard.

How to Make Ritz Cracker Chicken

Here’s an overview of how to make this mayo Ritz cracker chicken recipe.
(Scroll down to the recipe card below for more detailed instructions and donโ€™t miss the video below.)

  1. Make the sauce. Whisk together the sour cream, mayo, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Assemble the casserole. Place half of the sauce mixture in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with the chicken tenders and sprinkle with all the seasonings. Top with the sour cream mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan and Ritz crackers.
  3. Bake. Bake at 425F for 25 to 30 minutes, until an instant thermometer reads 165F.

What to Serve with Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole

The sauce on your casserole should still look wet, not dry, when serving. If it seems overly dry, you can add in a splash of broth to loosen it up when serving/plating.

Serve with your favorite roasted vegetable and/or a side salad. A few of my favorite roasted veggies are roasted carrot salad or roasted carrots, roasted brussels sprouts, and roasted broccoli.

Proper Storage

  • Storing leftovers. Store leftover Ritz cracker chicken in an airtight container or cover the pan tightly with plastic or foil. Refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  • Freezer.ย Freezing leftovers is not our favorite, since once thawed the cracker coating tends to be soggy, but you can freeze if necessary. Allow to cool completely, then transfer them to a freezer-safe ziploc bag. The chicken will keep for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
  • Reheat. Individual servings can be reheated in the microwave or you can pop the casserole dish back in the oven until heated through.

Yum! Quick and tasty! Just watch the timing, I checked at 20 minutes, and they were already slightly overdone. So I’ll take them out earlier the next time I make this!
