Iโ€™m one of those people who absolutely loves all the holidaysโ€ฆONE AT A TIME. I really donโ€™t want to see decorations, party ideas, or recipes for one holiday before the previous one has even happened.

And yet here I am sharing Thanksgiving treats before Halloween.

Sorry! I sort of hate myself.

But, you guys. Look at these treats!

I started making them and just fell in love. I didnโ€™t want to wait. With Halloween this coming Monday, youโ€™re all set there anyway, right? I mean, Thanksgiving is only a month away (crazy!) And judging by all the Christmas cookies that are already circulating on Pinterest, I figured Iโ€™ll be given some latitude.

Haley and Trevor declared the Pretzel Owls the cutest, but ate their weight in the Pilgrim Hats. Paul ate about 15 of the Acorns, while I coveted the Oreos for myself. Becauseโ€ฆOreos.

Theyโ€™re all really easy and fun, sure to please little and big kids alike!

Pilgrim Hat Cookies

Prep: 15 minutes
Total: 15 minutes
Servings: 24 cookies
Made with just 4 ingredients, these Pilgrim Hat Cookies are quick and easy to assemble without any oven, plus super cute! Such a fun little Thanksgiving treat to add to your holiday celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (11.5 ounce) striped cookies
  • 1/2 cup orange candy melts
  • 1/2 cup yellow candy melts
  • 24 Rolo caramel candies, , unwrapped
  • 24 orange and yellow M&Ms

Instructions

  • Place the cookies upside down on a large, parchment lined baking sheet so that the solid chocolate bottom is facing up.
  • Pour each set of candy melts into a shallow, microwave safe bowl and melt according to package directions until melted and smooth.
  • Dip each rolo candy bottom into the candy melts to coat the bottom and just a bit up the side.
  • Allow any excess to drip off and then place the rolo on the center of a cookie, creating a pilgrimโ€™s hat.
  • Place one M&M, m side down, on the candy melt band and then repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  • Allow the pilgrim hats time to set completely, about 15-30 minutes, before serving. (You can transfer to the fridge so they set quicker, but the cold chocolate is not as pleasant to eat.)

Notes

Melting Wafers or Candy Melts vs. White Chocolate chips. I prefer Wilton candy melts or Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers for candy making because of their smooth consistency and once dried and hardened, they donโ€™t soften at room temperature. If you want to use regular white chocolate and colored food dye, I recommend combining it with some coconut oil, which will help loosen it up and also harden faster. Youโ€™ll need about 1 tablespoon coconut oil per 1 cup of chocolate.

Chocolate Acorns are the cutest Fall or Thanksgiving treat! Made with Hersheyโ€™s Kisses, mini Nilla wafer cookies, and semisweet chocolate chips, these couldnโ€™t be easier!
5 from 1

Chocolate Acorns

Prep: 35 minutes
Total: 35 minutes
Servings: 50 acorns
Chocolate Acorns are the cutest Fall or Thanksgiving treat, and with just a couple pantry ingredients they could not be easier to make!

Ingredients

  • 12 ounce bag chocolate candy melts
  • 50 milk chocolate Hershey's kisses, unwrapped
  • 50 mini Nilla wafer cookies, (see note)
  • 50 mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  • Melt the candy melts according to package directions until melted and smooth.
  • Very gently dip the flat end of the Hershey's Kiss into the chocolate just so there's a very thin layer, and immediately place it on top of the flat side of a mini Nilla wafer cookie, pressing to attach it.
Place on the prepared baking sheet, cookie side down, and repeat with the remaining cookies and kisses.
  • Using a spatula, transfer the remaining melted chocolate to a small Ziploc bag; snip off a very tiny corner.
  • Pipe a smidge of the melted chocolate onto a mini chocolate chip and attach it to the top of the wafer to create the stem.
  • Let set at room temperature or place the baking sheet with all the acorns in the fridge for about 5 minutes to set completely.

Notes

Mini Nutter Butter cookies can be used instead of Nilla wafer cookies if peanut allergies are not a concern.
Candy melts will provide the best results. If melting regular chocolate chips, you’ll need to stir in coconut oil or the acorns won’t set properly.

I LOVE these ideas! Itโ€™s a family tradition to have everyone help cook Thanksgiving dinner. Last year my kids made a huge mess after the youngest turned on the mashed potato mixer, needless to say we had to get a professional tile cleaning after her older sister threw pie filling at her in response. These no bake, no mess ideas are the answer to my prayers. Thank you so much for sharing!!
