Pilgrim Cookie Hats, Chocolate Acorns, Pretzel Turkeys, and Oreo Turkeys are the cutest Thanksgiving treats! No oven required and they take only minutes to make!
I’m one of those people who absolutely loves all the holidays…ONE AT A TIME. I really don’t want to see decorations, party ideas, or recipes for one holiday before the previous one has even happened.
And yet here I am sharing Thanksgiving treats before Halloween.
Sorry! I sort of hate myself.
But, you guys. Look at these treats!
I started making them and just fell in love. I didn’t want to wait. With Halloween this coming Monday, you’re all set there anyway, right? I mean, Thanksgiving is only a month away (crazy!) And judging by all the Christmas cookies that are already circulating on Pinterest, I figured I’ll be given some latitude.
Haley and Trevor declared the Pretzel Owls the cutest, but ate their weight in the Pilgrim Hats. Paul ate about 15 of the Acorns, while I coveted the Oreos for myself. Because…Oreos.
They’re all really easy and fun, sure to please little and big kids alike!
Pilgrim Hat Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 package (11.5 ounce) striped cookies
- 1/2 cup orange candy melts
- 1/2 cup yellow candy melts
- 24 Rolo caramel candies , unwrapped
- 24 orange and yellow M&Ms
Instructions
- Place the cookies upside down on a large, parchment lined baking sheet so that the solid chocolate bottom is facing up.
- Pour each set of candy melts into a shallow, microwave safe bowl and melt according to package directions until melted and smooth.
- Dip each rolo candy bottom into the candy melts to coat the bottom and just a bit up the side.
- Allow any excess to drip off and then place the rolo on the center of a cookie, creating a pilgrim’s hat.
- Place one M&M, m side down, on the candy melt band and then repeat with the remaining ingredients.
- Allow the pilgrim hats time to set completely, about 15-30 minutes, before serving. (You can transfer to the fridge so they set quicker, but the cold chocolate is not as pleasant to eat.)

I LOVE these ideas! It’s a family tradition to have everyone help cook Thanksgiving dinner. Last year my kids made a huge mess after the youngest turned on the mashed potato mixer, needless to say we had to get a professional tile cleaning after her older sister threw pie filling at her in response. These no bake, no mess ideas are the answer to my prayers. Thank you so much for sharing!!
These are so great! What do you have for Christmas like this!
I don’t cook or bake so these are perfect for me, well for me to make for my husband who never gets homemade goodies!
Too cute!
All so cute!
