This recipe is one of those fun, quick snack ideas that is so easy, and theyโre perfect to put out for game day, movie night, or at parties. They’re also great for an after-school snack, if you have young kids. I toss everything together in one bowl, spread it on a sheet pan, and in under 10 minutes, we have a warm, garlicky little bite that tastes like tiny cheese-filled garlic bread. They disappear fast, so I usually make a double batch!
Helpful Tips & Variations
- Keep the crackers together. If some Ritz Bits have separated, gently press them back into sandwiches so the cheese is tucked safely inside. Exposed cheese can burn fast, so keeping it assembled gives you an even golden finish.
- Watch the baking time closely. These crisp up quickly, and the last minute or two makes all the difference. Pull them when theyโre lightly golden to avoid crossing into too-dark territory.
- Prep your pan wisely. Bake on parchment or a rimmed sheet pan to catch buttery drips and melted cheese. It makes cleanup easier and keeps the flavor on the crackers instead of sticking to the pan.
- Cool before snacking. They firm up as they cool, giving you that perfect crunchy bite. Let them rest on the pan until fully crisp.

How to Make Garlic Bread Ritz Bits Step by Step

Gather the ingredients: Gather all the ingredients together. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF and line two 9×13-inch rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper (or use one extra-large sheet pan).

Make the garlic butter: In a medium measuring cup, whisk together 3/4 cup melted butter, 1 tbsp garlic powder, 2 tsp Italian seasoning, and 1/2 tsp onion powder until combined.

Keep the Ritz Bitz Crackers together. Open up 2 boxes (8.8 ounces each) of cheese Ritz Bits. If some of the crackers have separated, gently press them back into sandwiches so the cheese is tucked safely inside.
Coat the ritz bits: Pour the cheese Ritz Bits into a large mixing bowl. Pour the seasoned butter over the crackers and toss until every piece is coated.

Add parmesan: Sprinkle 2/3 cup grated Parmesan over the crackers and toss again so the cheese sticks to the buttery coating.

Fill the baking sheet: Divide the crackers between the prepared baking sheets and spread them into an even layer. A little overlap is totally fine.

Bake the crackers: Bake for 7โ9 minutes, or until the crackers are lightly golden and fragrant.

Cool and serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with finely chopped parsley, and let them cool completely on the pan so they crisp up and get crunchy as they set. Enjoy!

Serving Suggestions
I usually serve these Garlic Bread Ritz Bits alongside a few other simple snacks so people can mix and match. A bowl of marinated olives, spinach artichoke dip, or a marinara sauce for dipping are always easy wins. If weโre doing a bigger spread, Iโll add bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms, or grape jelly meatballs so thereโs a little something for everyone. Theyโre also great next to a cheese board with salami, fruit, and nuts. The salty, garlicky crackers balance out the creamy cheeses perfectly.ย
How to Store Leftovers
Store the cooled crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 4 days. They will stay crisp as long as the container is tightly sealed. If you need to keep them longer, refrigerate for up to one week, although the texture may soften slightly. To bring back some crunch, spread the crackers on a baking sheet and warm them in a 300ยฐF oven for about 3 to 4 minutes or air fry at 350ยฐF for a few minutes. Freezing is not recommended for this recipe because the butter coating can soften the crackers, so room-temperature storage works best.
