Including tender pasta, crispy bacon, cherry tomatoes, and spinach, in a creamy sauce, this BLT Pasta recipe is a fun twist on everyone’s favorite classic sandwich. It’s so delicious and comes together in less than 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights!

My family absolutely loves pasta and also BLTs, so it’s no surprise that this BLT pasta is always a hit whenever I make it! With crispy bacon, sweet cherry tomatoes, spinach (in place of lettuce), and pasta in place of the bread, in a bright lemon-y cream sauce, it has all the elements of a BLT sandwich, plus more! It’s super easy, quick, and delicious!
Helpful Tips & Variations
- Pasta. I usually make this with mini farfalle pasta, but really any pasta works. I prefer a short ridged pasta, so the sauce can cling to all the nooks and crannies.
- Switch out the spinach. The spinach can be replaced with arugula or Swiss chard, beet greens, or kale but they will need longer to cook, which means you’ll likely need more sauce so it doesn’t dry out.
- Crème fraîche. This is a rich, tangy dairy spread made from fresh heavy cream that has been soured and thickened. If you can’t find it, you can use sour cream instead.
- Don’t allow the cream to boil. Once you add the crème fraîche to the hot pan, keep your heat low. You just want it to loosen and not boil or it could curdle.
- Save some cooked pasta water. Don’t forget to save some of the pasta cooking water, just in case you need it to thin out the sauce.

BLT Pasta
Ingredients
- 12 ounces mini farfalle pasta
- 1 & 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound bacon diced
- 2 cloves garlic , minced
- 3/4 cup Crème fraîche (or sour cream)
- 3 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- pinch cracked red pepper flakes
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes , halved
- 3 cups baby spinach
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil; cook 12 ounces pasta until al dente according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
- In the meantime, heat 1 & 1/2 tablespoons olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high. Add 1 pound diced bacon and cook, stirring occasionally, until crispy. With a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper towel-line plate to drain. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of grease from the pan.
- Return pan to stove over medium heat. Add in 2 cloves minced garlic and cook 20 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in 3/4 cup Crème fraîche until loosened, regulating the heat if necessary – you don't want the cream to boil. Then add in 3 teaspoons lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Add in 2 cups halved cherry tomatoes and 3 cups baby spinach.
- Mix until spinach wilts and tomatoes just start to soften.
- Toss in the cooked pasta until evenly coated.
- Stir in 1/3 cup Parmesan and the cooked bacon, reserving some for garnish.
- Add in some of the reserved pasta water, only if necessary if the sauce needs to be thinned out.
- Sprinkle with some more Parmesan and reserved bacon. Serve and enjoy!

Serving Suggestions
Because of the pasta, bacon, and tomatoes, this is a hearty dish all in one, but it definitely goes well with some garlic bread or a side salad for a more complete meal.
How to Store Leftovers
This pasta dish is best served right away. If you do have any leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge. It will keep up to 3 days. To reheat, I recommend stirring in a little bit of water or cream to loosen up the sauce again. This does not freeze well.
