Tiramisu Dip is a fun twist on the classic and popular coffee-flavored Italian dessert. It's so easy to whip up and will be the first to go at get-togethers!
assorted dippers: ladyfingers, strawberries, pound cake cubes, shortbread cookies
Instructions
In a large bowl, beat 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream and 1 tablespoon powdered sugar together with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes.
Wipe out the bowl and add in 8 ounces room temperature mascarpone cheese with 3/4 cup powdered sugar; beat until smooth.
Blend in 2 tablespoons brewed chilled coffee, 1 tablespoon Kahlúa, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. (Taste and add up to one more tablespoon of coffee if you’d like it stronger.)
With a microplane grater, grate 1 ounce semisweet chocolate.
Gently fold the grated chocolate into the mixture, along with whipped cream mixture, until combined.
Place dip in a serving bowl and give it a swirl with a spatula for texture. Lightly dust with cocoa powder (I use sweetened, since unsweetened is bitter, but use whichever you prefer.) Serve with ladyfingers, pound cake cubes, shortbread cookies, and/or fresh strawberries for the dippers!
Notes
You can replace the mascarpone with 6 ounces cream cheese and 2 ounces sour cream, if preferred. Dark rum, brandy, or Amaretto liquor are all good substitutes for Kahlúa in this dip or just use more coffee in its place. If you need this dip to be alcohol and coffee free simply omit the liquor and replace with chilled hot cocoa instead.
