Dry Cookie Mix
1cupall-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
3/4teaspoonbaking soda
1/4teaspooncoarse salt
1teaspooncinnamon

1/2cupbrown sugar
1/2cupgranulated sugar
1cupold-fashioned rolled oats
1cupbutterscotch chips
1/2cupcoconut flakes
Additional Wet Ingredients
1/2cupunsalted butter,softened

Instructions
To Make the Dry Mix for Gifting
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In a 1-quart glass jar, layer the dry ingredients in this order: the flour mixture, brown sugar, granulated sugar, rolled oats, butterscotch chips, and coconut flakes.
Place lid on jar, seal, and fasten with a ribbon, tag, and directions for baking with a list of the additional ingredients.
To Make the Cookies
In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter until soft and fluffy. Blend in the egg and vanilla until combined.
Add in all the dry cookie mix and blend well.
Drop by rounded tablespoons 2-inches apart onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 9-11 minutes, until golden. Cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
If butterscotch oatmeal cookies aren't your thing, feel free to swap the chocolate chips with another chip like dark, milk, white, etc. The rolled oats can be replaced with finely crushed pretzels. And if you hate coconut, use finely chopped nuts instead. As long as the ratios stay the same, the cookies will turn out great. Proper storage is included in the article.
