Notes
Cold butter won't whip smooth no matter how long you beat it, so give it the full hour on the counter before you start.
This recipe halves easily if you only need a small batch, or doubles for a holiday table without changing the method at all.
If you're using unsalted butter, add ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt so the sweetness doesn't taste one-note.
This is a sweet, higher-sugar spread, so treat it as an occasional topping rather than an everyday butter substitute if you're watching sugar intake.
Spoon into small jars, add a ribbon and a label, and it makes an easy gift that holds up in the fridge for over a week.
Store it in the fridge for up to 10 days or freeze it for up to 2 months, so it's easy to make ahead of a holiday meal.
