Ingredients
2cans(17.5 oz each) Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls with Icing(5 Count each)
2mediumGranny Smith apples, peeled and diced small
Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously grease a 12-cup bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Open up both packages of cinnamon rolls and set aside the icing tubs included. Separate the biscuits and cut each one into 6 pieces.
Place apple in medium bowl.
In a large ziploc bag, combine both sugars with the cinnamon. Then take a 1/3 of a cup of the mixture and toss it with the apples.
Add the cinnamon roll pieces to the ziploc bag and toss to coat.
Sprinkle half of the apple pieces in the prepared pan, followed by half of the cinnamon roll pieces. Sprinkle with the chopped pecans and drizzle with the caramel sauce.
Sprinkle with the remaining apple and cinnamon roll pieces. Then pour the melted butter evenly over the top.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown across top (watch it carefully toward the end and tent with foil if it's over-browning.)
Remove from the oven and cool 10 minutes; run a full knife around edge of pan to loosen. Place a serving plate over pan and turn over; remove pan. Cool 10 minutes longer.
Drizzle reserved icing over top of bread, allowing some to drizzle down the sides. Pull apart to serve; serve warm.
Notes
Try a different apple. This pull apart bread is sweet. To offset it just a tad, a tart apple provides some balance, but any apple will work in this recipe.Omit the nuts. If pecans aren't your thing, use walnuts or almond instead, or simply omit them.Leave out the caramel. We think the little drizzle of caramel in-between dough layers takes this monkey bread recipe up another level, but you can leave it out if preferred.Use a different spice. Instead of just cinnamon, toss everything with apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice.Add in some raisins. Add in a 1/4 cup raisins for added texture and sweetness.
