With just 4 ingredients, you can make this Copycat Wendy's Frosty Recipe at home! Rich, thick, and chocolatey, all without needing an ice cream machine!
Combine the ingredients into a blender. Pulse just until smooth.
Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container, cover tightly, and place into the freezer.
Freeze for about 3 to 4 hours, stirring every 45 minutes - this will create the perfect texture and thickness of a Wendy's Frosty. (If you would like a thicker frosty, freeze for longer.)
Spoon into glasses and serve.
Notes
Most blenders hold about 8 cups, and this recipe makes about 16 cups total, so plan to blend in two rounds.
Do not thaw the Cool Whip before blending. Adding it frozen gives you a fluffier, creamier result.
Leave at least an inch of space at the top of your container. The mixture expands as it freezes.
Stir every 45 minutes. This is what creates the thick, creamy Frosty texture instead of a solid frozen block.
No chocolate milk on hand? Stir a few spoonfuls of Nesquik or Hershey's chocolate syrup into regular milk, and it works just as well.
For individual servings, pour the blended mixture into mason jars filled halfway, seal, and freeze. Shake vigorously every 20 minutes for 1 to 2 hours instead of stirring.
To use an ice cream machine, blend all ingredients, pour into your prepared machine, and churn for about 40 minutes or until thick and creamy.
The unblended mixture keeps in the fridge for up to 5 days. A finished frozen batch will keep in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks. Let it sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before scooping if frozen solid.
