Notes
Salted or unsalted butter can be used. This recipe is written with unsalted butter, but I've used both! If you use unsalted, add in 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (not table salt) a little at a time. You might find that 1/4 teaspoon does the job. Either way, salt is a must in bringing out the best flavor.Adjust the sweetness. Some people think this is very sweet, while others don’t think it’s sweet enough. It’s all personal taste. For me, 3 tablespoons of honey is perfect. If you’re unsure, whip the butter and then start adding in the honey 1 teaspoon at a time until you get the results that suit you.Storage. This can be stored on the counter, covered, if it will be eaten within a couple days, or in the refrigerator in an airtight container, up to 2 weeks, then allow to come to room temperature before serving. You can also freeze it up to 2 months (thaw overnight in the refrigerator, then set out to reach room temperature.)
