Made with fresh lime juice, lime zest, and sweetened condensed milk, Brazilian Lemonade is a rich, luscious, and super refreshing family-friendly drink. Perfect for hot summer days!
Make sure your limes are scrubbed/washed really well, and dried. Juice all the limes and zest 1 of them.
Stir together the cold water and sugar; set aside.
To a blender, add the lime juice, lime zest, sugar-water, and sweetened condensed milk. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust the sweetness if the drink tastes at all bitter.
Pour over ice in glasses with a lime slice or wedge. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
Where are the lemons for this lemonade? There are no lemons here - that's not a typo. Instead, limes are used to make Brazilian Lemonade. In Portuguese “limão” is the same word for lemon and lime, so it's just translated to lemonade. See notes about traditional Brazilian Lemonade in the article.Make it boozy. You can make adult cocktails, if preferred by simply adding your favorite vodka or white rum to the pitcher.Easy swaps. The granulated sugar can be replaced with honey or agave, if needed. It'll give the drink a different flavor but it's still tasty. You can also replace the sweetened condensed milk with coconut milk, but note it will have a much different flavor and not be as creamy.
