With just 4 ingredients (plus your favorite sundae toppings!), these Banana Split Pudding Shots are just what the party needs. With a light, mousse-like boozy shot topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup, this recipe brings banana pudding shots to a whole new level.
In a large bowl whisk together the pudding mix, milk, and banana liqueur for 2 minutes.
Add 8 ounces of whipped topping and whisk until smooth. Place in the fridge for 5 minutes.
Lay out your condiment cups. Add 3 tablespoons of the pudding mixture to each cup. Cover with the lids, then place them in the fridge for at least 1 hour to chill.
When ready to serve, dollop or pipe the additional whipped topping on to each of the shots. Add chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry on top and enjoy!
Notes
What if I don't have banana liqueur? If you don’t have or can’t find banana liqueur you can use banana cream pudding mix in place of the vanilla and in place of the liqueur you can use your favorite rum or vodka.Make sure the pudding mix is instant. This recipe will not work with pudding mix that needs to be cooked.Make homemade whipped cream. You can use fresh homemade whipped cream in place of the whipped topping, if preferred. You will need 2 cups of heavy whipping cream and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar. Place these two items in a large bowl and beat until stiff peaks form. Use half of the whipped cream in the mix and the other half for the topping.Wait to add the toppings. I would only add the toppings until right before you are ready to serve. If you expect to have leftovers, add the toppings only to the pudding shots that will be enjoyed right away.
