Ingredients
1 3/4cupsall-purpose flour
3tablespoonsgranulated sugar
1tablespoonbaking powder
1/2tablespooncinnamon
1/2teaspoonnutmeg
1/8teaspoonground ginger
1/8teaspoonallspice
pinchkosher salt
3largeeggs
1 3/4cupswhole milk
6tablespoonsunsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1mediumsweet apple, shredded or finely chopped
whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and caramel sauce, for serving
Instructions
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and salt.
Add in eggs, milk, and butter, until thoroughly combined and smooth. Stir in the apple.
Preheat a waffle maker to your desired setting and lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray; pour some batter onto grids (amount will vary depending on waffle maker.) Close lid quickly; do not open until done.
Cook according to manufacturers directions (about 3 minutes or until golden brown). When done, use a fork to lift waffle off grid. Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve waffles with a dollop of whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream, and homemade caramel sauce. Garnish with more fresh apple.
Eat immediately and enjoy!

These are really meant to be dessert waffles. They're not particularly sweet on their own, so if you're going to omit the toppings, I would recommend adding in additional sugar to the batter.For storage information, please refer to the article.
