4 Easy and Quick Homemade Sauces

4 of the simplest, yet delicious sauces that can be made in minutes and transform ordinary pasta, salads, soups, or meat!

Almost game time! And I ain’t talking football.

Is everything shipped? Wrapped? Hung? And cooked? Okay, maybe not cooked yet. I’ve changed my mind on dessert so many times now, it’s almost like I just to need close my eyes and point to something and that’s the one.

I’m feeling pretty ready, but this month has been hairy. I won’t even tell you how many times we’ve eaten out (six times. Just kidding…seven.) The rest of the time I’ve actually been relying on my very own cookbook because…duh. GOOD FAST EATS. But also, these four simple sauces. They’ve been all kinds of awesome, transforming pretty much everything from boring to completely delicious, and making meal time doable!

HOMEMADE CLASSIC BASIL PESTO – This classic basil pesto sauce can elevate any pasta, sandwich, or soup and it’s so easy to make! Often times I will mix it with mayonnaise to create a sweet spread, like with these Asparagus Muenster Melts, or stirred into soup, or spread on chicken.

HOMEMADE HONEY-SESAME DRESSING – This dressing is sweet and tangy and only take 5 minutes to make. It’s a staple for this Applebee’s Salad, but I’ll also make it to drizzle over chicken tenders, or as a dipping sauce for carrots, tomatoes, snap peas, or blackberries. My kids love that!

HOMEMADE CRANBERRY SAUCE – this cranberry sauce just bursts with flavor. I love it so much, that I stock up on fresh bags and freeze them, so I can make it long after they’re not in season anymore. My favorite use is to mix it in with Greek yogurt and sprinkle some granola on top. It’s the best healthy breakfast or snack!

HOMEMADE REMOULADE – This kicked up mayonnaise is great on crab cakes, chilled shrimp, hard boiled eggs, Po’Boy Sandwiches, french fries, and potato salad!

You guys, really. Make these. They’re so much better than anything you can buy at the store!
